Contessa Chemise The chemise is worn under all gowns, and bodice and skirts -- like a medieval slip. Chemises absorb the body's soils and leave less wear and tear on the outer garment which was usually more expensive. The chemise still does the same job today. Made of 100% cotton muslin and machine washable, this chemise with a drawstring neckline has very full and long sleeves with subtle elastic cuffs. One size fits all. |
Pleasant Peasant Dress This dress was worn extensively by both the peasant and free class women during the 12th and 13th centuries. It's made from a poly/cotton blend that is both durable and easy to care for. Although the cut is straight down to the waist, it flares at the bottom to allow freedom of movement for horseback riding. Includes a girdle of the same fabric that is tightened with black cording to provide emphasis to the waist (no lace). Our sleeves have elastic that gives the impression of smocking. |
